Coastal walks and hikes through the verdant landscape, the coastline and the picturesque landscape will certainly delight the most adventurous souls. Worth visiting are the beautiful Chouchoulio beach and the enchanting harbour of Kouloura only 15 minutes away from Kalami, where travelers can relax by the sea or wander into the verdurous countryside.
In the area of Kouloura there is the Anielli’s estate dating back to the 11th century and the scenic chapel nearby. Follow the road for Kerasia (about a 30minute walk), admire the unspoiled landscape with the few impressive villas scattered throughout and try local specialties in the traditional tavern.
Moving on you will encounter the picturesque village of Agios Stefanos (approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes’ walk), as well as a few taverns where you can enjoy some of the finest Mediterranean specialities right by the seashore.
If you are heading south make sure to visit the beach of Gialiskari (about a 15 minutes’ walk), a pristine beach with crystal-clear waters nested in olive groves and fragrant gardens ideal for swimming and snorkeling. The village of Agni further ahead (approximately a 25 minutes’ walk), offers a few picturesque taverns for fish lovers and enthusiasts of local gastronomy.
Due to the complex terrain of surrounding area, Mountain Biking is an amazing experience, combining physical exercise with mental stimulation. Pick any route you please, by the startling seashore or within the verdant landscape. Whichever route you choose to follow the majesty of nature will take your breath away.
